Where we are located
Cal Alejandro is situated in the heart of Montsonís, a medieval village located at the feet of the mountain range of the Montsec and very near of Artesa de Segre and Ponts, on the way to Andorra. It belongs to the region of La Noguera.
Located on a hill, Montsonís is a perfect viewpoint of the Valley of the Segre.
It is a town with history: many caves, dolmens, medieval castles and troglodytic towns surround it. The inhabitants of Montsonís not only have conserved the medieval testimony of their streets and alleys, but they have also made of it a very pleasant place to have a walk. Plenty of corners and details, gardens and trees make it a delight.
Montsonís was a significant place during the medieval age as it was located at the border of the Arab world. Henceforth, when the territory was delimited, the new inhabitants started to build houses around the castle. They took advantage of the damaged parts of the walls, part of the caves, some of the irregularities of the land... All this historical enchantment still stays nowadays.
